Political Commentary by David Lepi Southern Highlands Province: Moral compass screwed up beyond repair I felt like a punch in the stomach as I watched with disdain the footage of the ousted Governor of Southern Highlands Province Mr. William Powi's attempt to justify why he should still remain in power at the post ruling press conference. Whilst he has every right to seek redress at the supreme court what baffles many is that he still could find the audacity to face the public after all he has done and the manner in which he usurped power was weighed, measured and found wanting. Staging the country's most abhorrent political coups ever and pretending it was nothing should be written in text books as a perfect example of inspiring disgust. Of course the man obviously has no moral compass. It is indeed a very bad example and misrepresentation by far - not all Southern Highlands is a repugnant tribe.
And I fail to understand why some good people still hanging around with the discourteous stinky mob. Like in a horror movie anyone this mob touches suddenly loses his/her soul. SC court has now granted leave for Powi for judicial review of the National Order #8 i.e Suspension of his powers and responsibilities and stayed the order #8 pending the appeal. Whilst he remains Governor the recount will proceed as ordered by the National Court. So your take home message is the corrupt regime and its vices have been finally dislodged. Whatever tooth and nail attempts thereafter are nothing but mere last ditch efforts to cling onto power like in catch up football.
