We have to Standing tall and proud of wearing the Gold, red and black jumper is every players dream in the country. Despite the hard battle that’s been drawn between various stake holders in the game, the players stand together for the common good and that is to represent their country with our heart and pride.....I was man to put my hand up for the post with pride but I was over look.....by people who makeing living of our national sports... The recently appointed PNGRFL interim board members by the Peter O’Neill – Leo Deon Government through the Sports Ministry have not been given its specific roles in each region.
Though the appointment was made through an anonymous support from all the stakeholders present during the one off meeting with Sports Minister Justin Tkatchenko last month in Port Moresby, the appointments is still inactive. I would like to inform stakeholders and Rugby league fan clearly shows no work has been done in progress to put stead the preparations of the PNG Kumuls to the World Cup which is now a paramount importance. Comments from these four regional officers regarding the PNGRFL will have to come from Don Fox, who is believed to be away in Australia. The appointed regional officers that have been appointed during the rugby league stake holders meeting in Port Moresby are Don Fox as the Chairman of the PNGRFL interim board, former Rigo Rugby League president, Mairi Gwabo acts in as the Southern Regional director while Horta Boskey who resides in Kimbe is the Director for the Niugini Islands Region and former PNG Kumuls coach and a long time PNGRFL serving administrator Joe Tokam has been reappointed to look after the Highlands region as its director. Current Lae rugby league president Senior Russ Kaupa has been appointed as the Director for the Northern region. While much of the talk in recent time is the lead up game between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and the Kumuls in February this year, nothing concrete has been surfacing since the appointment of the interim board last month. Sports Minister Justin Tkatchenko and Ivan Rava have failed our stake holders and the leagues in PNG to inform the new board members. Tkatchenko did not even inform minster in charge of League Hon Labi Amau. The official announcement of the specific roles of the appointed interim regional directors that will also include the person who will be in charge of the affairs of the PNG Kumuls leading to the World Cup next year is believed to be announced by Ivan Rava yesterday with help of Sports minster and Don Fox while Mr. Rava was sacked by the new borad. The rugby league World Cup is the pinnacle of any country to have field a possible strong team and for PNG is no exception. The Rugby League World Cup will be staged in England with the first game to kick off on the 26th of October, 2013 between the host country, England and Australia at the Cardiff Stadium. The main game on that day will be between Wales and Italy. PNG plays the next day, on the 27th of October, 2013 which is on a Sunday against France. According to the Rugby League World Cup Website, PNG is in pool B with New Zealand, France and Samoa while in Pool A has Australia, England, Fiji and Ireland. Pool C has Scotland, Tonga and Italy while Wales, Cook Islands and USA make up pool D. Thanks Timothy Lepa Comments are closed.
