Former SP Hunters utility back, Edene Gebbie, today signed a two-year contract with Australian NRL club the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Gebbie will be playing for the Rabbitohs for the 2020 and 2021 seasons. This is a big break for the 24 year old who switches between fullback and the wings for the Hunters in the Intrust Super Cup 2018 season, and currently plays for the Wynnum Manly Seagulls. Gebbie, made his international Test debut for Papua New Guinea against Samoa in the Oceania Test series this year, having already represented PNG in a number of Prime Minister’s XIII and non-Test fixtures prior to this year. Announcing the signing, Rabbitohs General Manager, Shane Richardson, says Gebbie is an exciting prospect, and the Rabbitohs welcome him, and will develop his skills over the next two years.
