The Mineral Resource Development Company officially launched the Star Mountain Plaza in Port Moresby last night. It's the county's first and single biggest landowner investment project. Prime Minister, Peter O'Neill, launched the project witnessed by Hilton Executives, Cabinet Ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, landowners from the Star Mountain and Kutubu, among others. The project showcases an evolution of modern design and commercial re-engineering. MRDC Managing Director Augustine Mano says the Star Mountain Plaza Project is an iconic and timely development for the country as it prepares to play host to the 2018 APEC Leaders summit. The Star Mountain Plaza development will be constructed over two stages, the first to consist of a 212 room Five Star Hilton Hotel, 3900 square feet of the Multilevel Convention and Perfoming Arts Centre and a 160 apartment residential tower. The world class project is a joint venture between three PNG landowner groups, Petroleum Resources Kutubu, Mineral Resources Star Mountains, and Mineral Resources Ok Tedi Number 2.
