Transparency International PNG, said people with criminal records and those with questionable reputation, should not be elected to Parliament. TIPNG Chairman, Lawrence Stephens, said this includes people who cannot distinguish between their personal business and the business of representing the people. He reiterated “There is very little good to be done in appointing people with bad reputations or criminal activitie’s and having them represent us in the national Parliament, we have to change this thinking. We have to have people there, who are there not for themselves but for the benefit of all Papua New Guineans” NBC New/PNGFacts
