The Papua New Guinea Department of Transport will soon impose a ban on betel nut-chewing in the workplace. This was the directive from Minister William Samb. Minister Samb says measures will be taken against officers caught chewing during working hours. "We have abused the purpose of betelnut so its an instruction from the prime minister that all public servants leave your betelnut at home and come to work. "We are only enforcing this instruction here. "If we are healthy and active then we can advise the government properly," Minister Samb said.
