Papua New Guinea has made an undertaking to assist Tonga in hosting the 2019 Pacific Games.
This was high on the Tonga Prime Minister's agenda during visit to the country this week. Prime Minister, Peter Oneill announced that P-N-G will be assisting and further directed Sports Minister Justin Tkatchenko to lead a delegation to the Kingdom of Tonga this year, to identify areas where PNG can assist. He said Papua New Guinea government will support the Tongan government in the hosting of 2019 games, because this was a commitment we made at the last 2015 games we hosted". Meantime, the Tongan Prime Minister departs PNG today.
