Police Minister Bryan Kramer has called on Police officers throughout the country for their commitment to fight against corruption. Speaking to police officers and their families at the Red Sea Police Barracks at Bomana in Port Moresby earlier this week regarding their accommodation issues, Minister Kramer said the money that can be used to address such issues is consumed by corruption every year. .
"Every year, more than K2 billion is lost through corruption," said Mr Kramer. "The only people in the forefront who can prevent this from happening are the police and therefore if you want good welfare, I want commitment from each and every one of you to achieve this outcome." Minister Kramer also told the Red Sea Barracks residents that it was an opportunity for them to have him over personally to address their issues and he did not wish to hear from the barracks any issues of drunkards disturbing the neighborhood or domestic violence incidents to happen in the future. The Police Minister further warned that days of corrupt practices and mischief is over in the Police Force.
