The National Cybercrime Code Bill 2016 was passed on the floor of Parliament today.
This now gives life to a significant piece of law designed to deal with crimes and offences committed against individuals, the public, Government Agencies or corporate entities through the use of ICT. The bill is the result of a policy development and key stakeholder consultation process as part of the implementation of the National Cybercrime Policy approved by the NEC. This now allows our authorities to clearly develop processes to deal with abuse by individuals who commits cybercrimes in PNG.
