The Papua New Guinea Minister for Defence and local MP for Teleformin Open, Solan Mirisim will be facing a leadership tribunal into allegations of misconduct in office. Chief Justice Sir Gibbs Salika announced the appointment of the leadership Tribunal today. The appointment follows a request made by the Public Prosecutor to the Chief Justice under Section 27 of the Organic Law in the duties and responsibilities of leadership. Chief Justice Salika has appointed Justice Les Gavara-Nanu to chair the tribunal with other members. The Tribunal will commence its inquiry on a date and time to be fixed by the tribunal members.
