Losing candidated and PNC party man, Paru Aihi will go to court over Kairuku-Hiri bi-election which was won by MP Peter Isoaimo. MP Isoaimo has welcome the petition and says he won the bi-election fair and square, but losing candidate Paru Aihi has a constitutional right to challenge his victory.
“I have won the election fairly. The counting process went well. That is shown by the reaction from the scrutineers. I don’t think there is any reason to go to the courts over my election victory,” he said Isoaimo polled 20,792 votes ahead of Aihi, who trailed behind with 17,669 votes. Aihi is yet to state the grounds on which he will dispute the result. Meanwhile, Isoaimo was shown in yesterday at the government house. Comments are closed.
