The use of plastic bags in the city will be regulated in the near future as it is seen as hazard to the environment.
The idea is next on the list for the NCD Governor, Powes Parkop in his bid to clean up the city. The governor said he is serious about keeping the city clean and he will ensure people change their attitude towards handling of rubbish. Parkop said the National Capital District Commission spends millions of kina to keep the city clean, however its efforts is never appreciated by the public and Parkop says this attitude will have to stop. He is now calling on the business houses that produce plastic bags to come up with alternatives. Governor Parkop is calling on the PNG Manufacturing Council and PNG Chamber of Commerce to assist in this regards. Comments are closed.
