The Marape-Basil government is running a desperate show trying to buy favor before the elections next year. Government is using the Free Education politically and not a genuine policy to drive human resource, this is according to the Peoples National Congress (PNC) Party. "The PANGU led government stopped TFF (Tuition Fee Free) when they came into power. Marape said NO parents should be lazy, but pay for your kids tuition Fees. Now, see the same person who removed TFF is trying to bring TFF back. Prime Minister Marape has lost popularity in the recent years and looking for a solid platform to regain popularity. People are not blind as James Marape removed TFF forcing more than half a million kids on the streets. Mr Marape Labeled the previous government in several occasion as a lazy government using TFF to make parents lazy and not responsible for their children. See who is bringing the TFF back? it’s the same person who removed it Prime Minister James Marape. What a yoyo government swayed by the political current and not making sound decisions for the good of this country but decisions to keep them in power" Social Media users have also labelled Marape Government move to declare Free education as political gimmick for 2022 elections. PM Marape is also urged not to get credit while the fees are being paid by Australian Tax payers (Australia pays fees for Primary Schools in PNG).
A journalist and a freelancer Samuel Raitano has slammed the Marape led government for gimmicking free education for political gain and urged Prime Minister Marape not to gain credit while the free Education is funded by the Australian Government. "The Marape government and his decreasing number of confused supporters must acknowledge the Australian government for assisting PNG with school fee payments. Shame on you for trying to claim full credit. Mr.Raitano stated via social media. " Marape government scrapped free education policy in 2020 & 2021, telling parents to pay 37%. Now with elections coming, Marape is doing a knee-jerk, scared man's technique to secure parents support by claiming that his government covered terms 1& 2 fees. Whether he will pay for terms 3&4 is still a cloudy matter. He is trying to secure votes and support by subsidizing terms 1&2 and once he is safely back in parliament, parents will shoulder the highly likely burden coming your way in terms 3 & 4 and 2023 onwards. Can't you see the political gimmicks and psychological games played on your naïve minds? This amateur is not fit to be Prime Minister. Advisors drag him around, feeding him with all sorts of ideas and notions. He is indecisive'' Next : No Place For Regionalism In Military, Says PNG PM Marape Comments are closed.
