A commission of Inquiry has recommended an Australian led company, involved in obtaining leases of a more than 2 million hectares of traditional land, be investigated for criminal misconduct and conspiracy.
The enquiry found the company called Independent Tembesen Stevedoring manipulated what was meant to be and an independent approval process to obtain control over 4 leases for more than 2-million hectares of land belonging to tens of thousands of people in PNG's western province. It found documents prepared by the company were deceptive and clearly fraudulent and recommended the leases be revoked, and ITNSP investigated for international racketeering. In a statement, ITNS said it had work in collaboration with landowners and has ask the commission to provide the sources for its findings. ABC Comments are closed.
