Core sectors will see substantial cuts to their allocation in the 2017 National Budgets.
Education and Health are among sectors that will experience cuts however some policies within the sector will be maintained Education sector will receive over K1.1bn or 8.7% of the total budget, but its a reduction of 7.4% from the 2016 Supplementary Budget, particularly in its operational and capital expenditures, while maintaining the TFF Policy. Health has been allocated K1.2bn or 9.2% of the total budget, but its a reduction of 20.5% of the 2016 Supplementary Budget. The Government is maintaining its commitment to free primary health care service policy with K20m. Other cuts apply to Transport sector 6.7% or over K897m, compared to the 2016 Supplementary Budget. There's also a reduction for Law and Justice sector of 8.8% from the Supplementary Budget, despite the sector allocated over K1.1bn for 2017.
