There has been increase in car theft in Port Moresby recently. NCD Metropolitan Superintendent Andy Bawa is now calling on city residents who own vehicles to be vigilant and caution when traveling about in the city. "If you are driving around in residential areas or in the city be mindful about any suspicious vehicles parked next to you or of suspicious individuals, as car theft in the city has increased recently and i want city residents to be cautions when you are out an about doing your personal runs in the city," said Mr Bawa. Furthermore, Mr Bawa has come out strongly against police officers misbehaving and abusing their power to abuse the general public in NCD. He was vocal about this as a result of ongoing complains raised by the public in the media as well as on social media about police officers stepping out of line on their duty and assaulting innocent people. "Police officers must perform their duties within the rule of law and I will not tolerate any of unruly behaviors by policemen and women under under my watch," said Met. Supt. Bawa.
