Chief Executive Officer, Mr Simon Foo said the decrease in fuel surcharge is due to reduction in fuel prices on the world market and also the current exchange rate.
In a media release, he said most domestic ports will see a reduction of up to 10% of the fuel surcharge component of airfares. This means passengers traveling within PNG destinations can now save up to K15 per sector.
“On the international front, passengers traveling to Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney, Honiara, Hong Kong and Nadi will see a reduction of up to 20 percent,” Mr Foo said.
He stated that they can now save up to US$25 per sector for overseas travel fares.
Mr Foo concluded that the decrease in fuel surcharge also means that passengers traveling on the Tura Half Price fare will enjoy more discounts.
