Are you troubled upon the inhuman trauma that was ignited by the political rivalries around the country? I am…, realizing the fact that many people will undergo a therapy counselling after the election as what they experience is contextually similar to that of the Middle East and African nations. Irrespective of the shock wave that was sent to every corner of my nerve, I also feel for my families and loved ones. Will they be safe out there? People are extremely paranoid when violence escalates in the epicentre of our homeland like a no man’s land. It started at point blank when a largest massacre of more than eighteen people in a single incident had popped up in the highlands region. Followed by another scuffle between two parties for the Moresby North-East seat outside the counting venue at Sir John Guise Stadium, adjacent to Sir Manasupe (NEC) house and a mile away from parliament. Consecutive clashes followed afterwards. The destruction of both state and private properties and looting of possessions have been a common way to show frustrations to voters during the counting period. Certain parts of the country have encountered similar instances to which it prompted the understanding whether PNG is truly a Christian country or a no man's land occupied by carnivores. Evil-induced individuals with their sinister schemes, hoping to mislead the people and get away with what they want, have insinuated our institutions. In fact injustice in PNG is drastically peaking while justice is apparently disappearing. It has come to a point where PNG is somewhat fit to apply for refugee status elsewhere in the world. After all the sufferings, the few minorities will enjoy luxury. And we will return to our life sustaining routines. Gardening, street vending and clocking in hours will always resume duty while the ones we fought for will be delighted by their privileges on top of our DSIP and PSIP funds. And the five year-term will elapse again, upbringing the next election. And then should we have the similar election nightmare? Never should I wish for it. This wealthy land deserves peace and prosperity. Someone should put an end to all our woes. We are roasted alive on a flame, pierced through our spine is a spike made of corruption. It has infiltrated our systems to an extent where it is becoming a threat to our existence. The apt of awe poised by this 2022NGE must be taken into consideration when updating or enacting new laws as to avoid such uncontrollable scenarios in the days to come. Therefore, can the responsible authorities penalize the perpetrators according to the degree of offence they have committed?
