Newcrest’s Lihir Gold Limited (LGL) signed an agreement with Bank South Pacific (BSP) to mark the improvement of BSP banking services, by offering a BSP LGL staff banking package on 23rd December. Under the agreement LGL staff will have a dedicated banking officer at specific times to visit the employees on-site to provide advice and assessment on loan products. This added service will benefit over 2,000 LGL staff comprising of direct and contractor employees. LGL employees will now have banking services delivered to their workplace. “This workplace banking arrangement is about financially empowering employees and enabling them to be in a strong position to make the best decision for themselves and their families,” said Peter Aitsi, Country Manager for Newcrest Lihir Gold Ltd. As part of this agreement BSP will be able to provide tailored personal banking service for the LGL staff and facilitate Home Loans for potential first home buyers, through the First Home Ownership Scheme (FHOS). Peter Aitsi added, “We are keen on empowering our staff in accessing better streamlined banking services that suits our workforce.” “Through this agreement, BSP is able to provide preferential support to harness the existing benefits program.” This is part of BSP’s Whole of Bank approach where BSP is able to provide banking services that are tailored to suit our customers and corporate clients. BSP is pleased to be in partnership with Newcrest Lihir Gold Limited.
