The National Court has adjourned the Opposition Leader's case requesting the seizure of the arrest warrant for the Prime Minister and his two Ministers, to next Monday.
Mr. Belden Namah told NBC News, last night, he is taking this step to challenge issues surrounding the warrants of arrest including, the suspension of the four policemen and the directives issued by the Police Commissioner, Tom Kulunga. Presiding Judge, Justice Catherine Davani, in her ruling this morning, said she is adjourning the matter, to give time to the defendants lawyers to be served the notice and also sort out their practicing licenses. The court found that, all the lawyers representing their clients in this case, have not renewed their practicing licenses, except for Alois Jerowai, who is representing the Opposition Leader, Belden Namah. Meantime, Mr. Jerowai has asked the National Court not to entertain any request by parties in this matter, to gag the media from reporting the entire proceedings. The Prime Minister and Treasurer, Don Polye are being represented by Tiffany Twivey of Twivey lawyers, Finance Minister, James Marape, by Robert Leo of Leo Lawyers and Police Legal Services Director, Nicholas Mviri appearing on behalf of Police Commissioner Tom Kulunga and Assistant Commissioner, Simon Kauba.
