Acting Chief Executive of the Coffee Industry Corporation Limited, Anton Benjamin, has been referred to the Public Prosecutor by the Ombudsman Commission, over allegations of misconduct in office.
The Coffee Industry boss was referred on the eve of Christmas, after over two years of the Ombudsman Commission going through his response to the allegations. Mr. Benjamin was given his right to be heard in January 2011, and responded to the allegations in February the same year. The Commission says after going through the matter, it is satisfied that Benjamin has a case to answer to, over misconduct allegations, under the Organic Law on Duties and Responsibilities of Leadership. Mr. Benjamin was informed of his referral this week. His case is now before the Public Prosecutor, who will decide whether on not to prosecute him under the Leadership Code. With the festive period and close of government operations, the Public Prosecutor is expected to come up with a decision next year Comments are closed.
