PNG Kumuls Coach Stanley Tepend is happy that the traditional Prime Minister’s 13 fixture between PNG and Australia is back on the menu. The PM’s 13 will be played at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane later this month. Coach Tepend says the PM’s 13 has always been an important fixture for PNG, and this year, the match will be used as a lead up to the Rugby League World Cup next month (October). He says the PNG Kumuls will be selecting a strong team made up of players who are now out of the NRL and Q-Cup finals.
The PM’s 13 match hasn’t been played in the last couple of years due to Covid 19 restrictions. It is also understood that the Australian Kangaroos Coach Mal Meninga will be using the PM 13’s as a lead up for the Kangaroos as they gear up for the World Cup.
