The P-N-G Hunters Rugby League team that's participating in the Intrust Super Cup is set to resume training in preparation for competition in February.
Players are expected to be in camp before 3pm this afternoon. Those players from outside Port Moresby are expected to be in camp by Saturday. Except young Wellington Albert will be heading down to Sydney to join the Penrith Panthers under 20's after him signing up with the Panthers club for a two year contract with the under 20's last year in December. Coach Michael Marum said when the team gets in on Friday 3rd of January,2014 to continue their training for the 2014 season in the Intrust Super Cup, their first trial match is on the 9th February at the Barlow Park in Cairns,Australia against the Northern Pride.He said then their second trial will be on the 15th of February in Mackay against the Mackay Cutters.Their 2014 Intrust Super Cup kicks off with their opening game in Brisbane taking on the Redcliffe Dolphins at the Redcliffe oval on 1st of March and the second game will be on 8th of March back in PNG at Kalabond oval in Kokopo,which will be the home ground of the SP PNG Hunters.
