The PNG Hebou Barramundis faced a disappointing loss against United Arab Emirates today in their first Super Sixes game in the 50 Overs World Cup Qualifiers underway in New Zealand.
The Barras started their Super Sixes campaign losing by 150 runs after chasing a target of 281. PNG won the toss earlier and elected to field. However, the boys went down by powerful bowling put on by the Arabs bowling them all out for 130 runs after 28.3 overs. In the UAE innings, a big century by Captain Khurram Khan helped the team score a total of 280 in just 48.3 overs. The PNG bowlers did well with Willie Gavera taking out three wickets, Norman Vanua and Pipi Raho taking out two each while Mahuru Dai got one. The Barras struggled in their innings with top batsmen Lega Siaka and Jason Kila going for a duck while the highest runs of 49 was made by Captain Charles Amini. PNGEDGE Comments are closed.
