By KEVIN TEME Post Courier PORT Moresby will host its first Digicel Cup double header this Sunday. Prima Tamaka Holdings Gulf Isapea will play TNA Lions in the first match at 1pm. This will be followed by the main game at 3pm between SNS Port Moresby Vipers and Agmark Rabaul Guria. Guria are the current competition table toppers. The Isapea versus Lions encounter – a Lions home game – has been shifted to Port Moresby because of election-related upheavals in the Chimbu capital, Kundiawa. After Wantok Gaming System Mt Hagen Eagles and Enga Mioks were stripped docked six and two points respectively, the top five contenders for this years are secure. However, the battle to host home games in the final for the second and fourth places are still on. Competition pace setters, Guria will have to win their two remaining games against the Vipers at the Lloyd Robson Oval this weekend and the next away to Structural Bridging System Limited Mendi Muruks before hosting the first major semi final in Kokopo. Meanwhile, a 40-member training squad for the annual Prime Minister’s 13 challenge between PNG and Australia will be named shortly. Interim Administrator Ivan Ravu confirmed to this paper yesterday that the squad will be assembled on September 16, a week before the clash on September 23. Inspection of the Lloyd Robson Oval also started yesterday and Ravu said that a lot of work still needed to be done on the playing surface, the perimeter fence and outer grand stand seats.
