By Bomai Kawale In Part I, we discussed the rise of JM and fall of PO. This article discusses why PMJM appoints Kua and Kramer as State Ministers, both comes from opposition and didn't Vote Rt. Hon James Marape, 8th PM of PNG. ******************************** This is the second article relating to the first one written on PMJM, and this one tries to give reasons as to why Brian Krammer (BK) was appointed as Police Minister despite him not voting for JM to be PM on 30th May 2019. This article may or may not be correct because this writer is not from the circles of PMJM. However as a political observer, I am writing these commentaries trying to asses who PMJM is and his rational of having appointed BK and Kua who never voted for him to be PM on May 30 2019. Firstly, least we forget the events of 30th May 2019 when JM was elected as PM. BK was not part of the 101 MPs who voted JM, in fact BK was not on the floor to either vote for or against Marape so one may ask why for a leader who was in Parliament precinct that day, and very active in the two days ( 28 and 29 of May) and why was he absent and why Marape still choose him to be minister. Apart from the fact that Marape might need to satisfy constituent of PNG that demanded Kramer to police ministry, I am reliably informed that Kramer was the only Member from the then opposition who stood to honor the Patrick Pruiatch led the then opposition camp in Sanctuary hotel who had resolved to allow for PM candidate to be from someone who brought more numbers from then PO lead government. And Marape did that by not only having 26 MPs but his resignation from PO cabinet started the avalanche of defections from POs crown camp to Marape’s Laguna camp. When opportunity for PM became available and with collusion between of Pruiatch and NA and Duma and URP saw Marape and his Pangu missing out through a vote at Laguna, Krammer honored the opposition word and voted Marape in the Laguna vote. Krammer was among the 28 at Laguna who voted for Marape and Marape possibly saw Krammer and K Kua as men of words hence gave ministries to them ( despite them not voting for him on the big day in parliament). One can never forget that it was Patrick Pruiatch who nominated Peter O’Neill and seconded by Belden Namah on 30th of May and PO accepted the nomination sincerely but only had to withdraw when other senior leaders in the opposition who saw the dubious scheme at play between PP, BN and PO decided to put their foot down and nominated Sir Mekere. This act by genuine leaders like Dr Allan Marat, Kerenga Kua, James Donald, Garry Juffa, Peter Numu, Allan Bird and the younger generation of leaders including those who were aligned with Marape and the rest in crown including Charles Abel saw the dubiousness of the middle generation peers of Marape like Namah, Pruiatch, O’Neill, Duma and the rest falter on the sword of their ego and lust for money and power. No wonder it is now a known secret that PO is funding Namah to continue the case that Pruiatch initiated against Marape’s election. This game is far from over but to political punters out there, I still bet in all this Marape will survive for the time being and PO plus those who support PO will be eliminated. Still waters run deep as they say, above the surface it looks calm but below are torrents and currents of dynamics at play that not even us at social media can fully predict or understand except the few players ( out of 111 mps) and of course the God of the future. From this writer’s perspective, fb commentators can keep a look out for Nick Kuman and John Pundari and Micheal Nali, they old hands they don’t have political parties but they will have big stage in 2022. Also watch out for Sam Basil who did well in 2017 but was neutralized by PO tentacles but under JM he might have breathing space, he is my dark horse for PM in 2022 and if Juffa, Krammer plus host of little parties team up under him, he will be a force. Others like Dr Tongap, and Steven Davis and Charles Abel May move around but might not have much cohesiveness. Keep tract of Powi, Kua, Undialu and a host of present day young leaders who helped Marape, they will be around. Don Polye , Chris Haiveta, Duma, Ipatas, Pruiatch and Belden all who have burning desire to be PM , might see 2022 as a last time for hurray and will burn all energy for it but in these generation it will be a contest between the two boys from souths in PO and JM. Interesting times ahead, these players/politicians will be at helm for the years of 2020s, like them or hate them , they here to stay , pick your leader from these leaders and you might as well rally behind him 100% because that is your direct contribution to help shape PNG for better ( or for worse). You ask me on my pick, I pick Kramer! But I can’t write off PO or JM this fight will go on. Those who want political advise and tip offs, this writer can give you insights, to have been around predicting ruse and fall of png leaders. You can inbox your interest and I provide them for a minimum fee of K5000. For political parties, you will be presently surprised how much information I have on all these leaders. My next article will look at who Kramer is and his possibilities of success in 2022.
