Commentary By Petrus GAND PNG’s sagacious administration has continued in threading its operations, both through protocols and policies, and has housed a concrete foundation to steadily prosper in terms of an economic and political standpoint. Never had it been with other preceding governments, the Marape-Basil’s term has strictly unravelled life-saving strategies. The foremost step was taken to nationalize Porgera mine while having in place a gold-mint that became a new set of facets altogether. And it will eventually open-up new doors for tremendous opportunities to flood our shores when the international market gains normalcy. PNG has remained the subject of bewildered quotas but has now paced into a red-carpet of proprietorship, painted by a common satisfaction among every stakeholder. Since our government was respectful in maintaining its bilateral relations, a fair share of 44 percent was seized from Pogera mine and became a giant leap in history. We usually receive dividends below what is now earned but such a considerable portion determines the sensitivity of our leaders under a specific directive. Serving onto our success, it has also turned-out to be a win-win solution when the P’nyang LNG was agreed with a 66 percent for our government, culminating with the paybacks attained by the landowners, while the rest were taken by the company. Our progress is apparent to be just the beginning. We will continue to take full authority in every industry existing within our influence when we have a stable government. It was well pointed out by many scholars that PNG has always been a land of unstable political reign, although the myth is likely to be terminated for the rest of our new journey. Whatever emerges during this political span has all been the result of what the leaders foresee and it’s pretty satisfying. The people are grateful for the milestone achieved as they were predominately suffering to have someone who would think and act-out what is happening right now. The colossal phase that we took is well understood and accepted that PNG will encounter an enormous economic boom later on when our gold-refinery commences its operations, including the newly established LNG projects. On top of that, much of our natural resources will in fact follow the same lane all along. The innocent inhabitants have always been the subjects of a few minority but the PM has saved them from being detached to the same old ditch. Thus, a conceivable call is to reach the hearts of every great man and woman that if we want this nation to catch up with the rest of the world, we need to withstand the continuation of our current leadership to complete its undone missions.
