A policeman sustained serious injuries after he was attacked by youths from Pagau area, in Kerowagi district of Chimbu province.
The youths attacked the officer following an argument. The angry youths from Pagau also assaulted two female teachers from Kerowagi Secondary school. The police from Kundiawa and Kerowagi retaliated by raiding Pagau village, early Saturday and demanded the Pagau community to surrender the suspects to police. Deputy Governor of Chimbu province James Kendegyak, who was also at the scene, condemned the action of the youths, and appealed to them to respect police and other public servants in the area. But he wants the matter to be solved through an appropriate manner. Attempts to get comments from the provincial police commander were unsuccessful. Comments are closed.
