The Ombudsman Commission has referred the Minister for Works and Implementation and Member for Imbonggu Open, Francis Awesa to the Public Prosecutor for alleged misconduct in office.
The alleged misconduct arises from his failure to uphold his duties and responsibilities in office as required under Section 27 of the Constitution and the Organic Law on the Duties and Responsibilities of Leadership. The Ombudsman Commission, satisfied that there is a prima facie case on Mr Awesa, has referred him to the public prosecutor. The discretion is now in the hands of the public prosecutor to carry out or decline proceedings under the leadership code for alleged misconduct.
