United States president, Barack Obama has commended Papua New Guinea for its effort in empowering women and the steps its taking to address HIV/AIDS, climate change, governance and security.
Mr Obama highlighted this when accepting the letter of credence from the P-N-G's ambassador to the U-S, Rupa Mulina. He said U-S stands to support P-N-G in its effort. Mr Obama also praised P-N-G for embracing the internationally recognized Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative standard. He said this would enhance P-N-G's ability to successfully manage the flow of resources effectively and in compliance with international standards. Mr Obama said its a new era for P-N-G as the L-N-G gas comes into full operations and marks an new level in the bilateral relations between PNG and U-S. U-S through its U-S based company, Exxon Mobil is investing over 57 billion kina towards the L-N-G project. Comments are closed.
