The University of Papua New Guinea's School of Business Administration, has changed its name to the School of Business and Public Policy.
This name change is to reflect it's new emphasis on public policy, as part of a groundbreaking initiative to train PNG's next generation of leaders through a partnership with the Australian Government. School Executive Dean, Professor Lekshmi Pillai said, the name change forms part of the new Pacific Leadership and Governance Precinct, an initiative to produce ethical and accountable leaders, who will improve services across PNG. Professor Pillai said, the school will now receive extra teaching staff and academic input from the Australian National University's prestigious Crawford School of Public Policy, and will continue to turn out graduates in economics and accounting, public policy, management and other business programs, with a view of introducing a Public Policy Masters Program. The name change was recently approved by the University Senate and Council.
