Details of the three billion kina U-B-S loan taken out by the Government will be made known as directed by The National Court.
The urgent application filed by sacked Treasurer Don Polye went before the court for mention yesterday. The judge gave several orders and also reaffirmed directives issued by the Ombudsmen Commission stopping the government from progressing the loan until investigations are completed. Judge Ambang Kandaski directed State lawyers to produce details of processes involved in securing the loan which was used to fund the 10.1 percent government share in oil search limited. Tiffiney Nongorr represented the Prime Minister, Robert Bradshaw Oil Search solicitor general lawyer Tauvasa Tanuvasa representing the state and Patrick Pruitach who are defendants in the case. The parties needed more time to prepare and a hearing date has been set for May Sixth. Mr Polye was seeking the court to declare the loan deal unconstitutional and illegal as proper processes weren't followed and that he be reinstated as Treasury Minister. Comments are closed.
