Triumph Heritage Empowerment Party denies the resignation of four of its Members, today.
Ministers for Higher Education, Science and Research Delilah Gore, Forests, Douglas Tomuriesa, Labours, Benjamin Poponawa and member for Ijivitari, David Arore, today announced they were leaving T.H.E Party. They say, they are resigning for the interest of their people and to ensure the current Government is stable, to continue providing vital services to the rural populace. However, President of T.H.E Party, Bungtabu Brown, says, they are still members of the T.H.E Party, despite their intentions to join other political groupings, including the Prime Minister's People's National Congress Party. "According to our constitution, they have to resign and I have to table those letters of resignation to the Council, and after the council makes a decision then, they are deemed to have resigned or not. "The office in Port Moresby has not received any letters from those Ministers and Members that have resigned T.H.E Party. "So, in that sense, because we have not received the letters and we have not tabled the letters of resignation at the council meeting, they are still members of T.H.E Party." Mrs. Brown says, Triumph Heritage Empowerment is a Party governed by its constitution and only its Council has the authority to make such decisions, based on principles. Comments are closed.
