The outstanding TFF funds worth of K90 million said to be released by the government this week hasn’t reached school accounts yet.
According to the Principal for Jubilee Secondary Mrs Bernadette Ove, the K242 million that was released to schools earlier was not enough to run a school from term 1 to term 2. “It will be turf for most schools especially the boarding schools if the remaining TFF Funds are not released into school accounts before term 2 starts” “Schools have to improvise and have talks with parents and community leaders to equip funds for term 2 if the rest of the TFF funds don’t come through by this week” said Mrs Ove Meanwhile, it is understood that most boarding schools in the country have been affected in the last remaining weeks of term 1 forcing schools to send students away for term 1 holiday a week in advance.
