At least one State-owned Enterprise is confident of not only delivering dividends to Government but also enabling the delivery of electronic services in the country.
Chief Executive Officer Michael Donnelly said Telikom had transformed itself over the last two and a half years through an agenda of radical restructure.
He said he is confident because the company is ready with the required skilled workforce driven by changes in the way it operates business over the years.
Mr Donnelly said these include rebuilding the large transmission networks and other infrastructure around the country.
“On top of that, we are able to help government achieve some of their development goals by bringing the internet to the community,” he said.
“What we know about the internet is that it drives economic growth.
“We are a participant in making our own business profitable and delivering dividends to the state but we are also a partner in enabling the internet, this thing that’s driving change all over the world to Papua New Guinea in a way that will enable services,” Mr Donnelly said.
“Whether it’s e-health services, e-commerce services, e-government services, e-education to rural and remote Papua New Guinea not just the urban centers, in a way that’s not experienced before,” he said......read more on >> PNG Technology News ONline : NBC News/PNGfacts
