Eastern Highlands Governor Julie Soso has expressed disappointment over the appointment of the new Eastern Highlands Provincial Administrator.
Governor Soso express this following the National Executive Council decision on appointing Solomon Tato as a legal Provincial Administrator on 26th November, 2014. Soso claimed that Mr. Tato was alleged to have misappropriated public funds meant for the people of Eastern Highlands when he was a deputy administrator under Malcom Kela Smith governorship in 2007. Mr. Tato was then placed under investigation before his appointment as administrator. Governor Soso says based on that allegations, the NEC's decision on him was deliberated by the PEC of the Eastern Highlands Province on Monday and have decided to reject the appointment to reappoint. She says a letter was given to the Minister for Public Service already to reconsider the appointment following the PEC rejection. Soso says she will not compromise with people who does not possess transparency and accountability during her term. She says she will continue to support the investigation team to probe the allegations and eventually allow the law to deal with those involved. Meantime, Governor Soso urged her people of the Eastern Highlands Province and the 8 MPs to keep calm under any political challenges and allow her to purse the investigation to promote transparency Comments are closed.
