Police reports in Lae city stated the method used in ending the life of Lae city’s Singapore Businessman, late Titi Tan was strangulation.
Chief Investigator handling the case, Peter Guinness said Mr Tan was strangled to death by his business colleague who is also from Singapore but holds a PNG Passport. Apparently before his death, Mr Tan went out for a dinner with the suspect (Name withheld) and then both men came back to Mr Tan’s residence where an argument erupted resulting in the suspect believed to be a middle aged man, strangling Mr Tan in his late 70s to his death. The suspect has been charged and arrested by Police but is out on a K20, 000 bail awaiting his committal court proceedings.
