Police in PNG's LAE city e are looking for a man who sexually molested a one-year, seven-month-old girl which resulted in her death. Lae Met Supt Anthony Wagambie Jnr yesterday described the man as a “senseless, animalistic-minded person”. “I will ensure this senseless animal is located immediately to face the full brunt of the law as such attitude is unbelievable, that could never be done to an innocent, defenceless infant who was unable to know what was happening to her,” Wagambie told The National Newspaper. “This is totally insane and uncalled for. He does not belong in this society.” Wagambie said the suspect had been assaulting the child between October 2015 and January this year. He said that the mother, from Chimbu, brought the child to Angau Memorial Hospital for examination. “I appeal to relatives who know this man to locate him and report to us immediately,” Wagambie said. Meanwhile, two women have reportedly died from separate domestic violence cases over extra marital affairs. In the first case, a man suspected his wife of having an affair and killed her at their home near Bumbu police barracks. The suspect was arrested and detained at the Lae police cells. Meanwhile, an argument between two women, married to the same man, resulted in the first wife killing the second. Police said the woman died from injuries sustained from severe beating. Police also reported that the body of a young man was discovered at Eriku last Friday. Wagambie said security guards at a sports and social club found the body on the lawn. “He is suspected to have died from injuries to be ascertained from the post-mortem because there were no eyewitnesses and the circumstances surrounding the death was a mystery – how and why he ended up at that location,” Wagambie said.
