Another senior government official was convicted today by the National Court, for fraud and corruption-related offences.
Deputy Health Secretary, Mark Mauludu, was convicted for misappropriation, false pretence and official corruption. Mr. Mauludu was charged for dishonestly claiming and receiving entitlements of more than 51-thousand-Kina, while the Chief Executive Officer of the Kimbe General Hospital. Chairman of Task Force Sweep, Sam Koim, in a statement said, this is their second successful case so far. He said, in September 2011, Cabinet, through its decision directed T-F-S to investigate various allegations of corruption in the Health Department. Mr. Koim said, this was one of the cases they had taken up. Submissions on sentencing, will be made on April 22. Comments are closed.
