The Education Department has a responsibility and that is to provide education and regardless of the planned Nationwide protest to be staged tomorrow in NCD, all schools in the city are advised to remain open and teachers and students must attend to their respective schools. “Let me make it clear that the department will advise schools to close for the day if and when there is a need but there is nothing as concrete as yet with the strike and police have advised us that they have not approved any protest,” said Acting Education Secretary, Dr Uke Kombra in a media conference today. Dr Kombra is also calling on the teachers and students not to get involved in the protest and to continue with classes but to remain vigilant and be cautious with their safety in such events eventuates. Furthermore, Dr Kombra says that in the event where there are no public transports operating on that day, than it is beyond the department’s control.
