Four secondary school girls are among 14 students arrested by Port Moresby police this afternoon for consuming homebrew.
They were apprehended at the 5 Mile hill bushes behind the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) office. This area is a hotspot for alleged cult related activities by students in the National Capital District: Police from Gordons and Boroko including a squad from the Dog Unit came in numbers and intervened chasing the students up the surrounding hills and manage to round them up. Several of those in the groups were sons of police officers and one girl identified herself a daughter of a defence personel at Murray Barracks. The four girls were wearing Badihagowa Secondary School uniforms, and the boys were from Dilasel Secondary. They were taken to the Boroko police station and charges are expected to be laid against them. Recently arrests on students involved in similar activities have been carried out throughout the city and police have warned parents to keep an eye out for their children, and students to stop such illegal gatherings Comments are closed.
