THE ruling Peoples National Congress party is mourning the death of party president Simon Korua, who died suddenly in Cairns, Australia on Monday.
Finance Minister and Leader of Government Business on behalf of the PNC party conveyed on behalf of the party supporters’ its deepest sympathy and loss of the party president. "Thank you for sharing this great Western Highlander, whose might of influence and legacy will live on in his PNC Party as we seek to conquer the highlands and rest of the country with development that has been lacking for a long time," Mr Marape said. "His chief influence is the reason why we are centering much of development in highlands around Mt Hagen city. On behalf of our Parliamentary leader and Prime Minister Peter O’Neill, I assure his family and tribe that his memories will be in our hearts, in our government policies and development endeavors so that his and our dream of making PNG a better place come to reality. "Mr Korua held the post of the president of PNC Party whose steady leadership with our Prime Minister took the party to the elections and returned to form government after the 2012 elections. "The late Mr Korua’s wisdom, experience and guidance was a key cornerstone to the strength of the party today. We as a party would like to convey our condolences to the wife, children, tribe and people of Dei and Western Highlands Province." "Mr Korua is a true story of rising from the humble beginnings as a farmer to a long journey of hard but rewarding work of a businessman, a story that can be repeated if all young Papua New Guineans work hard on opportunities our economy now presents." "All our PNG families and supporters throughout PNG are with your people of Dei and WHOP on this untimely loss of our great party non parliamentary leader." Comments are closed.
