Prime Minister Peter O'neill has condemned the recent attacks on members of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary by the general public.
Mr O’Neill expressed his condolences to the families of those who had been killed and urged the public to respect the uniform. In the last 12 months, there have been four instances of attacks against police officers. Three of the police officers died in those attacks. Today, Prime Minister Peter O’Neill called on the public to respect the rule of law and the work of the law agencies. On Sunday night, a police officer from Gordons Police Station was stabbed in the chest three times at Jack Pidik Park. His condition is now stable and he is recovering at the Port Moresby General Hospital. The Prime Minister is urging the police to work in pairs to reduce risk of being attacked Comments are closed.
