The acquisition of the Nomad's Cricket Ground, next to the Port Moresby Country Club, is being investigated.
This is after, fencing was erected recently by the company that's alleged to have acquired the title to the recreational area. In a Port Moresby news conference yesterday, Sports Minister Justin Tkatchenko said, he's consulted lawyers and the lands authorities, to establish how the corporate entity acquired the land title 10 years ago and if the correct procedures were followed. Mr. Tkatchenko emphasis, that under the compulsory acquisition program, his ministry together with that of Lands, will ensure all titles for the designated Sporting areas are returned to the P-N-G Sports Foundation. He said, this is to avoid future problems resulting from illegal acquisition of land titles for designated sporting areas. Comments are closed.
