The Waigani Supreme Court has granted a standing to Opposition leader Don Polye following his appeal to reconvene parliament. Queen's Council John Griffins representing the Speaker of Parliament, Deputy Speaker and the Attorney General argued that Mr. Polye did not qualify to stand in this proceedi gs due to a pending election petition in court. The Supreme Court however ruled that Mr Polye is an MP , the Leader of Opposition and a citizen of this country, hence has a stance in his application. The case returns to court tomorrow morning.
