Police in Enga are now waiting to question two suspects who were alleged to have attempted to sell answers for the upcoming Grade 12 exams to students at Suringki High School in the Enga Province.
This incident took place on Sunday at Suringki High School. Provincial Police Commander Acting Superintendent George Kakas told NBC News that the two men who are from Wabag went up to the school, between 3pm and 5pm, attempting to sell the answer sheets to the students for 800-kina for a sheet. PPC Kakas said the men had electronic copies of the answer sheets in their phone were planning to blue tooth the documents. Kakas said students and teachers retaliated when they realized what they were attempting to do. The PPC said the local education authorities have been notified, adding it was their responsibility to inform the Department of Education in Port Moresby. Enga was embroiled in serious allegations in past exams, affecting many students.
