A man has been shot dead by police in Hoskins in West New Britain, after he resisted arrest.
The man, identified as Henry Pidi is a known drug addict. He's wanted by police for sexually assaulting his biological daughter and attempting to murder her. Police had gone to a house to arrest Pidi, when he appeared with a bush knife and charged at the officers. He was shot on the leg and died while he was transported to the hospital. Provincial Police Commander, Jim Namora, confirmed the incident, saying a coronal inquest and a police investigation will be conducted into the incident.
