Police in the National Capital District have been deployed to hotspots to deter opportunists from further looting, in the aftermath of the weekend unrest between the police and defence force soldiers.
Quick response by police this morning, prevented what could have been a major looting spree by opportunists, at several major supermarkets in the nations capital. The J-MART Supermarket at Erima Suburb, closed for business this morning, following rumors of an alleged attack and ransacking by members of the public. There was heavy presence of police and security guards outside and inside the shop's premises. The SVS Shop opposite the Defence Force headquarters at Murray Barracks, is also shut, while police and security personnel maintain surveillance on the properties. Police are also stationed at the Malaoro Supermarket, at Korobosea Suburb, to prevent further attempts by opportunists. Comments are closed.
