The Papua New Guinea Teachers Association or P-N-G-T-A have called on each member of parliament to explain more the 100 million given to each of them to collect school data.
About K100,000 were given to each M-P in 2011 by former Education Minister, Paru Aihi for school data collection in their respective provinces and districts. PNGTA General Secretary Ugwalubu Moana says to-date, there is no report of the record. "What happen to that money. This is little over 100-million kina public funds. Where is the data that was collected by MPs 100-thousand distributed to them. Where is that money, where is the information that came to the department since 2012 or 11, Where is it? Can Ombudsman Commission go and check all the MPs now." The P-N-G-T-A General Secretary challenged all the MP's to come out clear on the issue or be subjected to investigations. NBC News have witnessed one district, Ambunti Drekikir in East Sepik produced reports of the money when Tony Aimo was still a member, early this year.
