The PNG Teacher’s Association Southern region has warned of further industrial action to follow should there be no proper or favorable response from the Oro Provincial Education Advisor and Board.
That’s the word from the PNGTA Southern Regional Secretary Raymond Ray. Mr Ray said currently teachers have only taken the first step in having a sit-in-protest today. However, the next course of action will be determined by the response from the Education authorities. It is believed that this will affect some 145 schools within the province from the elementary to the secondary level. We are waiting for PEA Mr Maino Vegoli and his team to call us for a roundtable discussion and address our concerns. Meanwhile, it is understood the PNGTA General Secretary Ugwalubu Mowana has been in contact with Mr Ray and will inform the PNG Teaching Service Commission accordingly of the steps taken. PNGFM
